Some help needed please! I have a Focus Estate MK2 1.6 TDCi, and recently it's developed a fault where after taking engine revs over around 2000rpm, and then depressing the clutch to change gear, the engine will stall. It can go a little over 2000, but not much. When it stalls, the engine restarts, but it has to turn over a few times before it
It'll probably start fine with just a second or two of ignition before starting. The plugs don't heat from opening the door. On modern petrols the in-tank pump starts from opening the door which may be where the confusion came from. The 1.6 TDCi uses an electronic EGR valve.
Hi peeps, hoping some advice can help me. 2012 mk3 focus 1.6L diesel model. Engine is running rough / mis-firing, engine management light came on, I checked and cleared the fault codes with my ForScan and the EML cleared but the car was still undriveable as still mis-firing. Fault code = P1263 -

It has to be coded and recalibrated for the end points (fully open/closed) can only be done by ford iirc.
Thanks for that, I had considered getting one of those. My Renault DCi has got one built in and I changed the fuel filter on that no problem. Have you actually used one of these on a 1.6TDCi with success?
Hi Everyone, I bought a Focus 1.6 TDCI 05 reg, second hand about a year ago and its done 130k miles. Ive replaced the air filter and a complete oil change myself, but a few weeks ago I started having problems.
Help! I have been digging through many previous threads but am struggling to resolve my issue. I have a no crank situation on my 2010 Focus 1.6 diesel. It has sporadically started in the past, and once running was fine, but now has stopped altogether.
Cars with the DLD-416 DV6 engine goes more than 100,000 miles without any problems. One serious issue with the 1.6 TDCI is turbo failure. Oil supply troubles due to sludge build-up in the oil feed pipes can cause a blown Turbo.
I have a 59 plate 1.6 TDCI with 115k on the clock. I've had it since 9k miles and it's always been dealer serviced (for what it's worth), on time. I am getting P0299 with Engine Malfunction, pretty reliably when I floor the accelerator.

1.6 Tdci Emissions Failure. My father's 07 Focus 1.6 TDCi failed its MOT emissions test badly (9.99 PPM which was the maximum reading of the tester!). The limit is 3.0! I'm not very familiar with this engine but checked the air filter, stuck the endoscope into the inlet manifold (a bit grubby in there) and checked for trouble codes.
